I wanted to try out a couple of new products that I have added to the website recently so combined them in this card. I am very pleased with the result. I think it would make a lovely Valentine card but by changing the sentiment could be used for many other occasions such as wedding, anniversary or even birthday and thank you cards.

I started with a 15cm white card blank and trimmed it down to 14.5cm so that the dark red card would be 14cm which fit perfectly in the embossing folder. I inked the edges of the card blank with a Merlot ink pad. I trimmed the Core’dinations Colorcore cardstock to 14cm square and embossed with a Damask embossing folder and die cut a scalloped heart shape from the centre. I sanded the raised areas of the embossing to let the plain red colour show through.
I then die cut a plain slightly smaller heart shape from parchment  paper and embossed that with the same Damask embossing folder. Using the new Darice Ink Pods I inked the raised surface of the embossing with Merlot ink and fixed that inside the cut out heart shape.
I used the same ink on the edge of the heart and the sentiment panel and to stamp the ‘With Love’ greeting.
I used a pearl flourish which I cut into three sections and stuck over the card and the heart, die cut leaves and paper flowers finish off the decoration.
Hope you like it.
