Hi Everyone, Happy New Year!
I have finally managed to get Christmas out of my head and crack on with some Valentine cards. This first one uses a new “Love” die from Creative Expressions, which has been given a metallic finish with heat embossing.
Start with a white A6 blank card and layer it with kraft card followed by dark pink craft core card. Adhere the kraft card to the card blank, cut a piece of patterned paper approx 9cm square and adhere to the top part of the kraft card. This will show through the cut out area.
Die cut a heart shape from the kraft core card, then dry emboss with a heart design embossing folding, gently sand the raised parts of the embossing to reveal the kraft core, use foam tape to adhere this to the card to lift it up from the surface.
Die cut a small heart from the kraft core card and adhere inside the cut away heart shape. Die cut two smaller hearts and two “Love” words from white card stock. Glue each of these together to create a more 3D version of each. Press them both into the surface of an embossing ink pad, sprinkle with gold glitter embossing powder and use a heat gun to melt and set it.
Use a 1mm foam pad to adhere the gold heart slightly overlapping the pink one and use glue to adhere the “Love” word below the cut out heart.
I am really pleased with the way this card turned out, it’s non fussy design makes it ideal to give to a male recipient, but would work equally well for a female. All the products used are linked below.
