Hand Made Card with Die Cut Feathers

Hi Everyone, I wanted to make another card using die cut feathers for a while now. I like the fact that feathers are a neutral symbol so can be used for male and female recipients.

Hi Everyone, I wanted to make another card using die cut feathers for a while now. I like the fact that feathers are a neutral symbol so can be used for male and female recipients.

Hand made card with woodgrain background, die cut feathers and stamped greeting.

To Make the Card

Take a white A6 blank card and trim approximately 6mm off the length so that it matches the size of the embossed background. Cut a piece of white card a few millimetres smaller than the card blank and emboss with a woodgrain design.

Die cut two feathers, one in blue and a smaller one in yellow. Adhere the embossed piece to the card front and the two feathers to the centre. Die cut a stitched rectangle and stamp the greeting with yellow ink. Attache this over the bottom of the feathers using adhesive foam pads to raise it a little.

Add several Nuvo Drop dots in blue. The Nuvo Drops will take about 24 hours to dry so it is best to do this last, less risk of smudging them.

I often make white on white cards for Christmas but have never done it for a birthday card before. I like the way the coloured feathers stand out against the white background. The woodgrain embossing and the feathers work well together as both are from nature.

I hope you like the card, all the supplies are linked below. Thank you for calling in.
