Hi Everyone, I hope you are staying safe and well. This is another card that is particularly appropriate during this Coronavirus crisis. A card of encouragement to send to someone who may be working on the NHS frontline or someone who is feeling lonely, to let them know that you are thinking about them. I incorporated a rainbow into the card as it has become a symbol of hope during this crisis.
There is a full description below of how the card is made, what is doesn’t tell you is that as I made this particular card everything that could go wrong did, from inky fingerprints to visible pencil marks and a poorly positioned stencil. I hope it’s plainer sailing for you if you give it a try 🙂
To Make the Card
Start with a 12.5cm square white blank card, layer that with white linen card.
Die cut a plain heart shape from watercolour card, lightly ink stripes across the heart to create a rainbow effect. Use the foam pad from a blending tool, pinched between your fingers to gently sweep ink across the heart. Fix the stencil over the heart shape, then ink over each colour with the same colour. This time use the foam pad fixed onto the ink blending tool to give a stronger colour. This creates the lovely two tone stencilled effect. Die cut a scalloped edge heart from black card and adhere the coloured heart to it. Fix this in the centre of the card.
Die cut the word Hugs three times from black card, then glue them on top of one another to create a dimensional greeting. Adhere this across the heart shape. Stamp the word Sending on black card and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Cut it into a small strip and adhere just above the Hugs word.
Finally add some co-ordinating enamel dots to two of the corners. And there you have it, guaranteed to bring a smile to any recipient. I hope you like it, please leave a comment to let me know what you think. Thank you for visiting.
