Hi Everyone, Happy New Year! The first major event in the card makers calendar is Valentine’s Day, here is my first 2021 Valentine card. I used the new Vines of Passion die set for the intricately cut out heart and old favourite Richelieu Square for the cut outs around the edge of the square panel.

To Make the Card

Start with a 12.5cm square white blank card and layer it with pink card. Take a piece of white card, and cut out the square shape with the cut out pieces inside the edge. If you are feeling adventurous you can add the two heart dies and cut all four with one pass through your die cutting machine. I erred on the side of caution and cut the squares first then went back through with the two heart dies and cut out the fancy heart.

The pink watercolour effect behind the heart is a piece taken from the new Blush Watercolour paper pad. Of course you could make your own design for this using inks, sprays or watercolours. Cut a piece from one of the Blush Watercolour sheets, approx. 9cm square and stick this to the centre of the pink layer. Adhere the white die cut square over the pink layer with the heart detail in the centre. Stamp the greeting in the bottom right hand corner in pink ink. Add different sizes of gold adhesive crystals to the heart and the top left corner of the card.

I really like this card, the pink and white combination works well. The Vines of Passion dies cut beautifully and the sentiment is simple. I hope you like it too, all the supplies are linked below. Thank you for visiting.
