Hi everyone, here’s another card with a beach and holiday theme, perfect for the summer months. I chose a sunshine themed sentiment for the card but you could use any sentiment that you want. Most of the elements of the card are die cut so the instructions are fairly simple.

Hand made card with die cut sunshine beach scene.

To Make the Card

Start with a white 12.5cm x 12.5cm blank card. Cut a piece of pale blue card, 12cm x 7cm and a piece of parchment vellum 12cm x 5cm. I used parchment vellum because the colour is slightly mottled, you could achieve a similar look by inking a piece of card with light brown and beige inks. Adhere the two pieces of coloured card to the card blank to create a sand and sea background. Use a darker shade of blue card to die cut a row of waves, adhere these over the join between the sand and the sky. You will need three pieces of waves to go across the card, make sure that the smaller one is at the right hand end of the card.

Die cut the sun lounger frame and the large part of the umbrella from white card. Cut the smaller part of the umbrella and the slats of the sun lounger from red card. Assemble the sun lounger and umbrella. Die cut the the umbrella pole and the knob for the top from white card and colour with a brown marker pen. Adhere the pole to the card at a slight angle, positioned so that it covers one of the joints in the waves. Use 1mm foam pads to adhere the umbrella canopy. Tilt th ecanopy to match the pole, position it so that the right hand tip covers the second join in the waves. Cut a strip of 1mm adhesive foam and use it to adhere the knob to the top of the umbrella.

Use pale blue card to die cut the glass, stem, base and straw. Cut the contents of the glass and the lemon slice from white card and colour them with marker pens. Glue the pieces of the glass together with the end of the straw between the glass and contents. Glue the whole cocktail to the area beside the sun lounger and add the lemon slice to the glass. Die cut the sun from yellow card and adhere to the top right hand corner of the sky area. Finally stamp the greeting on to the sand in the bottom right hand corner.

This is a fun card, full of bright colours, the perfect way to cheer someone up. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like it. All the supplies used are linked below.
