Hi, I used the Stained Glass Gerbera Circle die for this card so decided to try and create a stained glass look. I felt the flowers were such a strong image that the card didn’t need much more. A simple silver peel off sentiment matched perfectly. The die shape is cut several times and has layers of adhesive and embossing. This gives a recessed appearance to the colouring just like stained glass.
To Make The Card
Start with a 6″ x 6″ white blank card and trim it to 14.5cm square. Cut a piece of silver card 13.5cm square and adhere to the card front. Using a square die with small holes edging, cut pink card to 12.5cm square and adhere it over the silver card. Die cut a 10.5cm circle with small holes edging from white card. Add double sided adhesive sheet to the back of some white card and cut it with the Gerbera die. Put double sided adhesive on both sides of another piece of white card, then die cut it with the Gerbera die.
Take the first die cut Gerbera, peel off the backing sheet and adhere it in the centre of the white circle. Use marker pens or pencils to colour the flowers, leaves and background. It doesn’t matter if colour gets on the die cut as it is going to be covered up. Peel the backing sheet from the front of the second Gerbera die cut. Sprinkle silver embossing powder all over it, it will stick to the adhesive sheet. Shake off the excess and heat set with a heat gun. Peel the backing sheet from the back of the die cut and adhere this one over the first one.
Adhere the flower circle to the centre of the card. Stick the peel off sentiment to white card, trim it and layer it on pink card. Adhere this to the bottom right hand area. Use a foam pad at one end and double sided tape at the other to keep it level.
