Hi, here’s a classic birthday card for any golf loving guy. The simple layout includes patterns traditionally associated with golf, an argyle background and a tartan panel.

Hand made birthday card with die cut golfer and argyle embossed background.

To Make The Card

The first job is to choose your colour scheme to make sure that the embossed background, tartan panel and golfers clothes all co-ordinate. The actual making of the card is very straightforward once you have sorted your colours. Take a 5″ x 7″ white blank card and layer it with green card. As the card blank measurement is in inches I will continue to give all the sizes in inches. Cut a piece of blue card 4.5″ x 6.5″, dry emboss it with an argyle embossing folder. Adhere the embossed panel over the green layer. Cut a piece of tartan patterned paper approx. 1.75″ x 5.5″, back this with green card and adhere to the card front on the left side.

Die cut the golfer from white card, then colour him in to co-ordinate with your colour scheme. I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers but any other pen or marker will work just as well. Cut a piece of blue paper from the Bloom and Wild paper pad to approx. 3″ x 4.5″, then mount this on green card. Glue the golfer into position over the blue paper and adhere the whole panel to the card front, so that it overlaps the tartan panel.

Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment in black ink on a strip of the blue paper, mount this on green card and adhere it next to the golfer with thin foam pads.

There you have it, a definite hole in one for a golf fan’s birthday. I hope you like it, all the products used are linked below. Thank you for visiting.
