Hi, this is a card of firsts! I don’t think I have ever made a purple Christmas card before, and although the Stunning Snowflake die set came out last year this is the first time I have used it. I love the way the snowflake cuts in sections so that you can inlay or layer with different colours of card to create lots of different effects.

To Make The Card

Start with a 6″ x 6″ blank white card and trim it down to 14.5cm x 14.5cm to make it easy to measure the layers. Cut a square of purple card 14cm and a square of white card 13.5cm. Cut a square of white watercolour card 13cm. Adhere the purple and white layers to the card front.

Blend the Distress Oxide ink colours on the watercolour card with darker purple at the outer edges and lighter pinky purple at the centre. Use a paint brush to spatter water over the inked surface and dab off with a dry cloth or kitchen paper. Adhere this inked panel to the front of the card.

Die cut the larger snowflake twice from white card and glue them together. Cut the smaller snowflake once from white card and once from silver glitter card. Separate the two pieces of the silver snowflake and glue the outline piece over the white snowflake. Position the smaller snowflake over the bigger one so that the shorter arms are between the longer ones and glue in place. Add a purple self adhesive crystal to the centre of the snowflake, then adhere the snowflake to the centre of the card.

To finish, stamp the sentiment in purple on strip of white card and adhere across the bottom portion of the snowflake.

This is not a difficult card to make and would like great in all sorts of other colour combinations. Thank you for visiting I hope you like the card. All the products used are linked below.
