Hi, I wanted to make a card with a non traditional colour scheme this time, and combine it with some white on white which I really like for Christmas cards. I think the lilac colour is very pretty for a change.

To Make The Card

Start with a white 6″ x 6″ blank card, and trim it down to 14.5cm square to make the layering measurements easier. Add a layer of lilac card 14cm square and a layer of white 13.5cm square. Cut a piece of white card 3.5cm x 13.5cm and ink it all over with lilac ink using a foam blending tool. Don’t go for even coverage with the ink create extra interest by having lighter and darker areas. Lay the stencil over the inked panel and tape it down. Spread the glitter paste over the stencil to cover the whole panel. Carefully lift away the stencil and wash it straight away in warm soapy water. Set the stencilled panel aside to dry.

Once the stencil paste has dried, adhere the panel to the front of the card approximately 2.5cm in from the left edge. Die cut three Christmas trees (2 the same and 1 different) from white card. Adhere 1 tree so that it overlaps the stencilled panel, another higher up and overlapped by the first and the third, lower down.

Stamp the sentiment in lilac ink in the top right area of the white card layer and add some iridescent crystals to the area around the trees. I like the lilac colour, and can see this working well with any other pastel colour. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like it too. All the products used are linked below.
