Hi Mother’s Day in the UK is only a few weeks away, so I wanted to get a head start on making some cards. It is also the perfect opportunity to try out the Be Bold Blooms die set, and I can definitely say that I wasn’t disappointed. It has taken a few weeks to be able to get stock of this die set as it kept selling out but it was worth the wait. There are 21 dies in the set and I used nearly all of them on this card, there are so many different combinations of flowers and leaves that you can use, you will never be short of ideas.

To Make The Card

Start with a white 5″ x 7″ blank card and trim it down to 12.5cm x 17.5cm. Cut a piece of light green card 12cm x 17cm and dry emboss it with the Leafy embossing folder. Adhere this to the card front. Die cut a piece of white card with a rectangular inverted scallop die. Stamp the Mother’s Day greeting in the bottom right hand corner of the white panel with dark pink ink. Once the ink is dry adhere it to the centre of the card.

Die cut a selection of flowers and leaves from shades of pink and green. Use some of the same green as the background as well as darker shades. Use alcohol marker pens to blend some colour onto the main flower and the smaller darker flowers. For all three of these flowers cut the piece that goes behind the flower centre from yellow card. Adhere the main flower to the white die cut panel with a 1mm adhesive foam pad, this allows you to glue the stems of the flowers and leaves and tuck them under the main flower. Keep adding flowers and leaves until you are happy with the arrangement. Add some adhesive dew drops to finish off and add some subtle shine.

I like the pink and green colour scheme and I think the leafy background works very well. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like it too. All the products used are linked below.
