I have been looking forward to using our heart shaped shaker domes to make Valentines cards, here’s my first one! The shaker domes make it really easy to create shaker cards, there is no need for foam pads etc. and your shaker elements will stay safely inside the dome.
I started by cutting some red and pink lacy hearts so that I could use the small die cut hearts inside the shaker dome, I will use the big hearts for something else later.
I lightly marked with a pencil the position of the shaker dome on an A6 white card blank, I piled the small hearts in the middle of the marked area and adhered two of the hearts towards the upper left side of the shaker dome area. I put dabs of glue all around the rim of the shaker dome, pressed it into position on the card blank and left it for a few minutes for the glue to dry to make sure that it was secure.
I took a white A6 dome overlay, ready made to fit over the heart shaped domes, and embossed it with a hearts embossing folder and then adhered it over the dome and the card blank.
I cut a strip of pink card and stamped the greeting with black pigment ink and adhered this to the bottom right corner of the card.
Et voila! shaker cards made simple with our own brand shaker domes!

- Heart shaped plastic shaker dome
- Hero Arts Many Messages clear stamp set
- Black pigment ink pad
