Hi everyone, I wanted to try out the new Avery Elle Mothers Day stamp and die that we have recently received into stock, I have to say I was not disappointed. The stamp produced a crisp image which is then easily cut out with the matching die to produce your own handmade embellishment. I didn’t use the sentiment stamp that comes with the flowers on this card, but you will see that in a later card. Of course flowers like these could be used on any type of card so I am sure it will prove to be a very useful set.

Mothers Day Card with Stamped and Die Cut Flowers
Start with a white A6 blank card, cut a piece of Raspberry Gingham paper approx. 14.5 x 7cm and use double sided tape to adhere to the bottom portion of the tent fold card. Cut a piece of white card to 7.5 x 14.5cm, die cut to a centre point with a stitched edge die and adhere to the top portion of the card overlapping the gingham paper.
Stamp the flowers in black on white card stock and colour with markers or pencils whichever you prefer, I used Copic colours R59, R85 and R81 for the flower petals, Y15 for the stamen, YG67, YG63, YG03 and G99 in various combinations for the leaves. Once coloured die cut the flowers using the matching die and adhere to the card front just above the point on the white card, using foam pads to lift it and give dimension.
Cut a strip of dark red card, stamp and heat emboss the sentiment in white and adhere to the lower portion of the card, again using foam pads to raise it off the surface. (I had to cut the stamp in two in order to stamp the sentiment in one line, you could try masking part of the stamp and then masking the other part if you prefer).
Just add a few green sequins to finish the card off.
I really like this card, both the colours and the design and am really happy with the new stamp 🙂 I hope you like it too. If you have a minute please leave me a comment to let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading
