Hi everyone, hope you are well and survived the blast of cold weather and snow in the UK. I have recently added a new range of stamps to our stock, from a relatively new company called Mudra Stamps. I wanted to use one of them to make some cards as an introduction to the brand and decided we would have a bit of fairytale magic and fantasy with their lovely Stay Magical stamp full of Unicorns etc. The unicorns are so cute I thought they would work well as a fun shaker card, and of course a rainbow colour scheme. I think this would make a great card for a child, although I know a few adults who would also like it! Hope you like it, please let me know what you think in the comments at the bottom.
Thanks Debbie x

Rainbow unicorn shaker card
Start with a piece of white card slightly smaller than an A6 card blank, using an ink blending tool create a rainbow of colour across the card using Distress inks or Distress Oxide inks. I used Distress inks as I didn’t want the colours to be really strong. Take the star die cutter and cut the aperture for the shaker dome out of the inked card, towards the left side of the card.
Take an A6 white card blank, position the inked card over it, with the shaker dome in the aperture, remove the inked card holding the shaker dome in position, now lightly mark around the shaker dome  with a pencil. Stamp the greeting in the centre of the marked star shape. When the ink is dry, glue two sequins just above the greeting and pile the rest in the centre. Spread glue all round the rim of the shaker dome and position it on the card according to your pencil marks. It’s a good idea to put the inked card back on top to make sure everything is in the correct position before the glue dries as it’s easy to slide the shaker dome around a little while the glue is still wet. When you are happy with the position leave the glue to dry, I usually weight the shaker dome down with a book or something to make sure that it sticks all the way round.
Whilst that is drying stamp a unicorn in black ink and colour the horn, mane, tail and hooves with marker pens or pencils to create a rainbow design. Cut the unicorn out and attach 1mm adhesive foam pads to the back, and 3mm adhesive foam pads to the back of the inked card.
When the shaker dome glue is dry, stick the inked card over it, the unicorn to the right of the shaker dome and some more sequins around the card.
