Create the background

Start with an A6 white blank card, cut a piece of gold card 9.5 x 14.75cm and adhere to the centre of the card.   Cut a piece of white card 9 x 14.75cm, then, using a foam ink blending tool, ink all over the card, (the ink colours are linked below). Spritz with water, then remove the excess with a dry cloth or kitchen towel, to create the mottled effect. Use a heat gun to dry the ink quickly.

Heat Embossed Stencilling

Use stencil tape to attach the stencil to the inked card. Carefully spread texture paste over the stencil making sure that it is all fairly evenly covered. Lift away the stencil, discard the tape and wash it quickly with warm water. Whilst the texture paste is still wet sprinkle with gold embossing powder, then shake off the excess so that you can return it to the pot. Use a heat gun to melt the embossing powder. This will also dry the texture paste, which will bubble up whilst it’s being heated but goes down again straight away, leaving a great texture. Attache this panel to the centre of the card.

Finishing Touches

Use the same inks to colour a small strip of card, mount it on gold card, add a gold peel off greeting and use adhesive foam pads to adhere it to the front of the card.   As I mentioned earlier this is a really great technique, which is not too difficult. I love the results, and hope you like it too, let me know what you think in the comments if you have a minute or two.

Thank you for visiting. Debbie x
