Hi Everyone, here’s another Valentine card, which will be my last for this year. This time I have used a hot foil stamp to create the gold love heart as the centre piece. This is part of a set of three heart shaped hot foil stamps from Spellbinders. I am sure I will be using these again in the future.

To Make the Card

Start with an A6 white blank card and trim 1cm off the length to approx. 13.75cm. Trim a piece of striped paper the full size of the card front and glue in place. Use a stitched rectangle die to cut a piece from white card and glue in the centre of the card front.

Cut a 9.5cm x 7.7cm piece of white card and ink with dark and light pink ink, in vertical stripes across two thirds of the rectangle. Blend the ink colours together to create a smooth change of colour. Leave the final portion of the card white to create a third stripe.

Stamp the Love Heart hot foil stamp in the centre of the inked card with gold heat activated foil. To get the best results from hot foiling check out our tips and tricks page. Adhere the foiled piece in the centre of the stitched rectangle on the card.

Cut a thin strip of white card, and stamp Love You with gold ink. Trim the length of the strip and cut the left end at an angle. Glue the strip in place in the bottom right corner of the inked rectangle. Finish off with some Morning Dew Nuvo Drops around the hot foiling.

I like the combination of gold and pink, it feels luxurious but not too heavy. The hot foiled love heart is quite fancy and doesn’t really need much else to complete the look. Thank you for calling in, I hope you like the card, all the supplies are linked below.
