Hi Everyone, it looks like being another sunny day here so I thought some brightly coloured die cut flowers would be perfect. In my last post I used the Richelieu Flourished Fretwork die set to create the whole card, this time I just used one of the dies to create the cut out detail around the edge. I knew I was going to get plenty of use from that set.

To Make the Card

Start with a 12.5cm square white blank card, and layer that with a piece of pale pink card cut to 12.25cm square. Cut a piece of kraft card to 11.75cm square and die cut into it with the cut out frame die. Adhere this over the pink layer.

For the flowers I used the Marianne Creatable Flower die set. Each flower consists of two of the larger flowers, one in the same pale pink as the background and one in a slightly darker pink. I rolled each petal around a bamboo skewer to curl them slightly. Adhere the darker flower on top of the light one with the petals offset to give a fuller effect. I used the smaller flower die to cut a third set of petals for each flower. Again curl them slightly and adhere these on top of the other two layers. To finish the flowers off I added three pink, self adhesive pearls to the centre of each.

I die cut three leafy stems in pale green, one slightly smaller than the other two. Arrange the flowers and leaves in the bottom left hand corner of the card. I stamped the greeting in brown ink to match the Kraft card, onto the same pale pink card that I used elsewhere. Adhesive foam pads attach the greeting in the area above the flowers and lift it slightly.

I like the extra detailing that the die cut border adds to the card and the fresh colours, perfect for a summer birthday. Please leave a comment to let me know what you think. Thanks for calling in.
