I needed to make a new home card for my daughter and wanted to include a bird house. I had planned to use the bird house die from this set, but in the end opted for something plainer so that I could add the die cut heart.

Hand made new home card with die cut branches and bird house and stamped congratulations greeting.

To Make the Card

Start with a white A6 card blank and layer it with Kraft card, then white card.

Die cut the ivy corner from green card, cut it into two pieces at the corner and trim off any excess parts. Adhere the two branches near the top of the card, right up to the left edge of the Kraft card.

Die cut two 2.5cm squares, one from Kraft card and one from red card. I chose a red card with some texture to make it look more like a roof. Cut the red square in half to form two triangles. Glue one of the triangles across the top of the Kraft square to form the roof of the bird house. Die cut a small heart shape from gold mirror cards. (I had this one left over from using the Aurora die set).

Cut a very fine strip of Kraft card and adhere it to the back of the bird house roof to form the hanging string. Make it just long enough to reach the bottom ivy branch. Use 1mm adhesive foam pads to attach the bird house, raising it slightly to make it look like it is hanging. Add a gold adhesive metal gem where the hanging strip meets the ivy branch to cover the join. Add another gold gem to the bottom right corner of the bird house for decoration.

Finally stamp the Congratulations message onto a strip of white card and adhere this near the bottom, again using adhesive foam pads.

This card is for my daughter who has just moved to Italy. I hope she likes it as much as I do. Thank you for calling in, all the products used are linked below.
