Hi Everyone, here’s a Christmas card with a modern look and feel, using non traditional colours. The bright colours create a sharp contrast with the white snowy background, and the crystals add a nice sparkle to the tree.

Hand made Christmas card with embossed snow background, die cut hills and a jewel decorated Christmas tree

To Make the Card

Start with a white A6 blank card and layer it with turquoise card. Cut a piece of white card to approx. 9.85cm x 14cm and emboss with a falling snow embossing folder. Adhere the turquoise layer and the snowy layer to the card front. Die cut three pieces of white card using the stitched hillsides die, making sure that they are not identical. Adhere the three hillsides to the card front so that they overlap each other. Die cut a turquoise house and two pink houses and adhere them to the hillsides to the left hand side.

Die cut a white Christmas tree using the inside with the punched holes from the Three Christmas Trees die set. Cut a plain tree from turquoise card and adhere this behind the white one so that the turquoise shows through the punched holes. Add self adhesive crystals in pink, turquoise, pale blue and purple and silver metal gems over some of the holes in the Christmas tree. Adhere the decorated tree to the right hand side of the card front.

Pop a silver and white die cut greeting out of it’s holding sheet and use a sanding block to remove the notches. Adhere this to the top of the card using 1mm foam pads to lift it above the embossing.

I am delighted with the way this card turned out, simple but not too plain. I hope you like it too, thank you for visiting.
