Hi Everyone, I am always keen to try out new stock items, so this new Retro Tree die set from Sizzix was straight out of the packet and into the Big Shot. The Christmas Tartan paper pad is another new addition to our range which I am sure you will be seeing much more of in the coming weeks.

To Make the Card

Start with a cream 12.5cm square blank card, layer it with gold and green card. Cut another piece of gold card 9cm x 10cm and layer that with red card, and adhere to the centre of the card. Die cut the Christmas tree twice once from plain dark green card and once from the tartan paper. Put the dark green frame around the tartan tree and tape them together you can use the other pieces later.

Die cut one of each bauble shape from the red card, and one of each bauble decoration and bows from gold card. Assemble the baubles and add a small, red, self adhesive pearl to each one. Again from the gold card die cut an assortment of stars. Adhere the baubles and the stars to the front of the tree, saving two of the larger stars for later.

Use adhesive foam tape to attach the tree to the centre panel. This will lift it up from the background to add extra dimension. Add the saved die cut stars on either side. Stick a gold Merry Christmas peel off to cream card, layer that onto gold card. Adhere to the card front to the right of the top of the tree.

I love the shape of the tree and the effect of the tartan, it gives it such a festive feel. I made this card with my daughter, not a bad effort for our first collaboration I think. Thanks for visiting, I hope you like it too.
