Shabby Chic Reindeer Christmas Card

Hi everyone, here’s another card by our guest designer Garcia Wild. Her challenge was to use the Reindeer die, and I hope you agree that she has come up with a stunning and unusual design.

Hi everyone, here’s another card by our guest designer Garcia Wild. Her challenge was to use the Reindeer die, and I hope you agree that she has come up with a stunning and unusual design.

To Make the Card

Start with a cream 5″ x 7″ blank card, then layer it with vintage style patterned paper. Cut a piece of gold card approx 5″ x 5″, use a paper scruffer to distress the edges, then ink them with Vintage Photo and Black Soot Distress Oxides. Wrap dark green sheer ribbon around the gold panel and tie in a bow towards the left hand side.

Cut a decorative rectangle from green card, then ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. Die cut the reindeer twice, once from dark red card and once from Kraft card. Adhere the Kraft reindeer to the decorative rectangle, then adhere the dark red reindeer over the top an offset to the left. Adhere this whole panel to the gold panel over the top of the ribbon, then using adhesive foam tape adhere the whole gold panel to the centre of the card.

Die cut a fancy frame from green card, ink the edges with Vintage Photo and cut it in half lengthways. Adhere the halves above and below the gold panel, sliding the cut edge under the panel to hide them.

Die cut a small tag twice once from Kraft card and once from dark red card, ink the edges with Vintage Photo. Stamp the Merry Christmas greeting onto the Kraft tag. Adhere the tags to the top right had area of the decorative rectangle with the Kraft tag offset over the top of the red one.

To finish add a green and gold adhesive crystal to the tags and red and gold crystals to other areas of the card and gold metal gems to the decorative brackets.

This is not a 5 minute card, but the end results are well worth the extra effort required. Thank you for calling in, I hope you like it.
