From Our House To Yours Christmas Card

Hi everyone, I really like the “Merry Christmas from our house to yours” sentiment and wanted to create an appropriate card to use it on. I also wanted to try out the new Embossing Sprinkles

Hi everyone, I really like the “Merry Christmas from our house to yours” sentiment and wanted to create an appropriate card to use it on. I also wanted to try out the new Embossing Sprinkles from Cosmic Shimmer which produced an excellent result.

Hand made Christmas card with die cut houses, heat embossed snowfall and sentiment.

To Make The Card

Start with a white A6 blank card, and layer it with dark red card. Cut a piece of silver pearl card to 10cm x 14.25cm, score two lines across the card at 1cm and 5.5cm from the bottom. Stamp the sentiment in between these two lines, with Versamark Ink and heat emboss with opaque white embossing powder.

Die cut three houses from dark red card, I found some with a texture which looks a little bit like red brick. Die cut a small Christmas tree from white card. Adhere the houses and the tree in a row just above the top scored line, with the tree in between the houses.

As I mentioned I used the new Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Sprinkles to create the snowfall. As this is a brand new product I decided to try it out on some card first. I am glad I did, I randomly sprinkled the crystals on to the card and then heated from below per the instructions. The embossing crystals melted as they should but, as you can see from the photo, some of them were so close together that they pooled into larger blobs.

When I used the crystals on the actual card I used a cocktail stick to spread them out a bit. I tried to keep the random appearance and moved some down to be much closer to the houses. This produced a result that I am happy with. Once the embossed snow has cooled attach the panel to the card front.

I am pleased with this card, the simple design and colour scheme work very well. Thanks for calling in, I hope you like it too. All the supplies used are linked below.
