Hi Everyone, the Ho Ho Ho die set is from last year but I didn’t get chance to use it then, so it was top of my list for this year. I used a new die set to cut the pieces of foliage, which I am sure I will use a lot more.

To Make The Card

Start with a white A6 blank card and layer it first with silver glitter card, then light blue card. The Ho Ho Ho die set has two versions of the die, one with diagonal embossed lines and one without. Cut the one with the lines from white card and the one without the lines from silver glitter card, 3 times each. When cutting the silver glitter card one, use the small circle die to cut the centres out of the “O’s”.

The next job is a bit fiddly but worth it for the lovely effects. Die cut six each of pine cones, holly leaves and berry stems from white card. Press each of the pine cones and holly leaves into an embossing ink pad then put gold embossing powder on the pine cones, green on the holly and heat set. Use an embossing pen to ink the berries, sprinkle with red embossing powder, then heat set. You could ink and heat emboss a piece of card with gold and then die cut the pine cones from it, same for the holly, but you will get white edges to the shapes. You could also just cut them from different coloured card, but I love the shiny, enamelled effect that the heat embossing produces.

Adhere the white and silver Ho Ho Ho’s together using thin foam pads, this creates a small gap that the ends of the foliage items can be tucked in to. Slightly offset the two layers of each word to create a shadow effect. Use dabs of glue to adhere the foliage pieces around the words. In the end I only used five of the pine cones but felt that it looked fine like that. I hope you like it, thank you for visiting, all the products used are linked below.
