Hi everyone, we recently got this star die into stock, and I was keen to try it out. I think it also looks a bit like a snowflake so tied in nicely with the star/snowflake patterned paper. The vintage style of the card is a bit of a change from the ones I have made recently and it gave me chance to use more of the beautiful Country Christmas self adhesive crystals.

To Make The Card

Start with a white 6″ x 6″ blank card and layer it with green card. Cut a piece of parchment vellum slightly smaller than the green layer. Ink the edges of the parchment piece and stamp the greeting in the bottom right hand corner. Heat emboss the sentiment with gold metallic embossing powder, then adhere the parchment panel over the green layer. Cut a piece of matt gold card 4.5cm wide and the same height as the parchment layer. Layer this with a piece of patterned paper, the same length but 4cm wide. Stick this vertically to the centre of the card.

Die cut a the large star background from white card and ink around the edges. Cut the star inner from matt gold card and adhere over the background. Attach this to the centre of the patterned panel with thin foam pads. Die cut two large and two smaller flourishes from matt gold card. Glue the ends of the flourishes and stick them underneath the star, pointing to the top right and bottom left hand corners of the card. Die cut some of the smaller stars in the set and along with various self adhesive crystals, use them to add decoration to the card.

I like the look of this card, but it would be easy to change the colour scheme and sentiment to make a more modern cleaner looking version. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like it too. All the supplies used are linked below.
