Hi, I wanted to make a pretty floral birthday card for a specific recipient, the new Buttercup Floral Panels die set seemed perfect for the job. There are so many ways to use and combine the dies in this set it took me a little while to decide what to do with it.

Hand made birthday card with die cut buttercup floral panels.

To Make The Card

Start with a 7″ x 7″ white blank card and trim it down to 17cm square for was of measurement. Layer this with gold mirror card, then cream linen card. Use the leaf panel die along with the plain rectangle die to cut two leaf panels from green card. A layer of Sticky Grid on your cutting pad makes it easy to keep the dies in position. With the same plain rectangle die cut two pieces of pink paper from the Bloom and Wild pad. Adhere the paper, which has a slight ombre effect, behind the two leaf panels with the ombre in opposite directions.

For the centre piece, cut the flower panel twice, once in green and once in pink card. Carefully cut the flower heads from the pink card and glue them over the green flower heads. Use a marker pen to add colour to the flower centres. Cut a piece of light green paper from the same pad and adhere it behind the flowers. Die cut the notched rectangle frame from gold mirror card and adhere that to the back of the panel.

Glue the leaf panels to the back of the flower panel with the edge of the frame overlapping, and the leaves in opposite directions. Adhere all three panels to the centre of the card front. Use a Happy Birthday peel off to co-ordinate with the mirror card, on cream card, backed with gold card. Cut the right hand end of the sentiment at an angle for added interest and adhere it with thin foam pads. For the finishing touches add pale pink adhesive pearls to the open flower centres and the three flower buds. Also add a row of gold metal gems to the top left and bottom right corners of the card.

I feel that I achieved my goal of making a pretty floral card, just hope my Mum likes it too. Thank you for visiting, all the products used are linked below.
