Hi, the New Baby die set from Sizzix has all the classic items associated with babies, I thought the little romper suit was perfect for this card. I wanted a slightly non standard colour scheme so combined the traditional blue for a boy with a dark yellow.

To Make The Card

Start with a white A6 blank card, cut a piece of blue card 10.5cm x 14.75cm and adhere to the front. Cut a piece of yellow card approx. 5mm narrower and adhere that over the blue, leaving the margin to the right hand side. Cut a piece of white card approx. 5mm narrower than the yellow. Fix the stencil in place over the white card, with stencil tape. Use a foam ink blending tool to apply the ink making it darker in the centre of the stencilled area and lighter towards the edges. Adhere this panel over the yellow panel, again with the margin on the right hand side.

Die cut a heart shaped frame from white card by using two sizes of heart die together. A sheet of sticky grid on the cutting plate will keep the dies in position. Cut the romper from light blue, then the trim and bird motif from darker blue. Glue the trim and bird to the romper suit. Glue the heart frame to the card front at a slight angle. Use adhesive foam pads to adhere the romper suit over the bottom part of the heart frame, again at an angle.

Cut the Hello twice from yellow card and the baby boy words once. Glue the hellos on top of one another to add some extra dimension, then glue over the top of the heart frame. Adhere the baby boy wording to the area at the bottom right of the card. Finish off by adding some self adhesive enamel dots to match the blue.

I like the colour scheme for this card and the stripes at the side as a change from the usual layering. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like it too. All the products used are linked below.
