Hi, I needed to make a card for someone who enjoys computer gaming, this gave me the perfect opportunity to try out some new products with a gamer theme. The recipient is a young man so I didn’t want anything too fussy. I think this just hits the mark.
To Make The Card
Start with a white 7″ x 7″ blank card and trim it to 15.8cm square. Cut a piece of blue card 14.8cm x 14.8cm, lay the stencil over it and hold in place with stencil tape. Use a foam ink blending tool to ink all over the stencil with blue ink. Add a layer of black card 15.3cm x 15.3cm to the card front, then adhere the stencilled panel on top of it. Die cut a plain black circle 8.5cm diameter and a blue circle with small circles edging 7.5cm diameter. Glue them together and adhere to the centre of the card.
Die cut the game controller from black card. The game controller die embosses the cross shape and the two small rectangles, but in black card the embossed lines didn’t show up very well. Use the die as a stencil and trace the cross shape and the rectangles on to grey card then cut them by hand and glue in place over the embossed shapes. Add coloured enamel dots to create the buttons. Use thin adhesive foam pads to adhere the game controller to the circle, at an angle and towards the top of the circle.
Stamp the sentiment in black ink on a strip of blue card, mount the strip on black card and adhere across the bottom of the circle below the game controller.
