Hi, here’s a Christmas card with lots of texture and sparkle courtesy of the coloured glitter paste stripes. Some die cut winter foliage and a simple sentiment are all that is needed to finish it off.

Hand made Christmas card with stencilled glitter paste stripes, and die cut winter foliage and sentiment.

To Make The Card

Start by making the stencilled panel as the glitter paste will need time to dry. On a craft mat or other non-porous surface smoosh a good quantity of red ink. Add glitter paste to it and mix together until your desired depth of colour is achieved and the glitter paste is still thick. Lay the stencil over a piece of white card, (I made a 15cm x 15cm piece so that I had more than I needed). Use removable stencil tape to hold the stencil in place, then spread the inked glitter paste over the stencil, levelling it out as you go. Remove the stencil and wash immediately with soap and warm water, then set the piece aside to dry.

Die cut pine branches and holly sprigs from dark and light turquoise card. Cut the sentiment from red card and the banner behind it from white card, glue the two pieces together.

To complete the card cut a 5.5cm x 14cm strip of the stencilled card and adhere it to the front of a white A6 blank card, slightly towards the left hand side. Glue the foliage pieces to the top left hand corner of the striped panel, and the sentiment strip across the striped panel about half way down. Finally add three red enamel dots in a cluster to cover the ends of the die cut foliage, and look like holly berries.

This is an easy card to make and of course you can use any colour of ink to colour the glitter paste. Even with a fairly strong colour like red you can still see the glitter effect. I hope you like the card, all the products used are linked below. Thank you for visiting.
