Hi, here’s a fun Valentine card with a die cut jigsaw puzzle heart and a matching sentiment. I used a lovely new stencil to make the background, unfortunately most of it is covered up!
To Make The Card
Start with a white 6″ x 6″ blank card and envelope, trim it slightly to 14.5cm square to make it easier to cut the layers. Add a layer of black 14cm square and a layer of pink 13.5cm square. Cut a piece of white card 13cm square lay the stencil over the white card and use stencil tape to hold it in place. Apply pink ink with a foam ink blending tool. Apply the ink more heavily in the top right hand corner where the hearts are denser and fade it out to the bottom left corner to create an ombre effect. Adhere this stencilled layer over the pink layer.
Cut a piece of pink card, approximately 10cm square and die cut it with the jigsaw puzzle die, then cut it again with the heart shaped die. Remove the centre piece and use single sided tape to hold the other pieces together. Die cut the scalloped edge heart from black card and glue the pink jigsaw heart on top of it.
Stamp the sentiment in black in on white card and trim it down. Adhere it to the bottom of the card overlapping the bottom of the heart, using thin adhesive foam pads. Use the same foam pads to adhere the spare jigsaw piece over the end of the sentiment strip. Add some clear crystals to the sentiment, the spare jigsaw piece and the jigsaw heart to finish off.
