This is a card that I made for a friend’s birthday recently. It is the first time that I have tried paper piecing and once I got going I really enjoyed it. The Woodware stamp is a lovely versatile stamp that could be used for Valentines, weddings, birthdays anniversaries etc.
I stamped the image onto different patterned and plain papers and then cut out different parts of each one and combined them to create the sort of patchwork looking owls below. The patterned papers that I used are actually from a Christmas pad so don’t put your Christmas papers away yet many of the ones that are striped, spotted etc. can be used all year round.

For the rest of the card I used a plain white card blank and covered it with a striped paper, I tied a ribbon vertically around the striped layer before attaching it to the card. I inked the edge of the owls image and adhered that over the ribbon. I used a small text peel off for the greeting and mounted that on co-ordinating card with the edges inked. Red self adhesive pearls at each corner and tiny adhesive crystals to give them a twinkle in their eyes finish it off.

Thanks for looking in.
