Hi Everyone, Happy Easter, I hope you are looking forward to the long weekend, a good chance to relax and do some crafting!
For this second hot foil card I wanted to try stamping the hot foil onto vellum and I have to say the results are excellent, the vellum doesn’t buckle or warp with the heat and the hot foil transfers really well.
Start with an A6 white blank card and cut a piece of white card a few millimetres smaller than the card base.
Rub Distress Oxide ink onto your craft sheet and spritz with water, then drag the piece of white card through the inks. Use a heat gun to dry the ink dabbing off any excess and repeat the process until you are happy with the colours and coverage.
Cut a piece of vellum the same width as the inked card and approximately 5.5cm high. Heat the hot foil stamp on the Go Press and Foil machine until the green light shows, cut a piece of heat activated foil big enough to cover the stamp and lay this coloured side down on the stamp followed by the vellum, add some card shims and leave in the machine for another minute or so for everything to heat up. Remove the base plate from the machine and run it through your die cutting machine taking care to go quite slowly to give the foil chance to transfer. Remove the shims and if necessary peel away the excess foil (I found that it fell straight off the vellum).
Using double sided tape adhere the inked panel to the card blank, then use Invisi Dots to adhere the vellum across the top portion of the card. Glue on some tiny metallic flowers to finish it off.
A pretty card which could be used for many different occasions. I really like the look of the shiny hot foil on the vellum and the way the special Invisi Dots adhere the vellum without showing through.
