Hi Everyone, time for another Christmas card, this one is made using a single die set, that includes the dies for the shadow box frame and all the decorations inside it. You can arrange the small decorative items any way you want and play around with different colour schemes too. Once you’ve got this set you can use it however you want, you will have all the Christmas dies you need, plus you could use the frame for other shadow box cards with non Christmas items inside, a very useful set to have in your stash.

Hand made shadow box Christmas card with die cut decorations, holly and adhesive gems.

Make the Card

Start by using white card to make a 12.2 x 17.8cm card blank. Cut a piece of gold card 11.7 x 14.7cm and adhere to the top part of the card base. Die cut the shadow box frame from white card and adhere over the gold card using 3mm foam pads to lift it and give depth to the shadow box.

Die cut various items from the set to put inside the different sections. If an item is going to be a single colour like the Christmas tree and the baubles at the top you can die cut them from coloured card. For multi-coloured items like the candy cane and the cracker, cut them from white card and use marker pens or pencils to colour them.

For the Christmas stockings, cut them from white card and colour the bottom part in red. Use a Quickie glue pen to cover the top part with glue and add Glamour Dust to make them sparkle.  Arrange the different die cut pieces inside the shadow box and glue in place.

Die cut four holly leaves and glue them to the corners of the frame, adding a red adhesive crystal for a berry. Add adhesive crystals to the centre of the poinsettia and the green baubles too.   Cut a piece of gold card slightly bigger than the printed message, glue the message to the gold card. Mount the greeting on foam pads before adding it to the bottom of the card.

As I said at the beginning there are so many ways you can mix and match the different parts of this die set you could make dozens of cards and none of them be the same. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like this card. All the products are linked below.
