Hi Everyone, Creative Expressions recently released a range of dies to cut various shapes in a 3D canvas style. This is a great way to create a focal point on your card, to highlight other die cuts, embellishments etc. For this card I used the hexagon shaped dies to create the canvas style shapes decorated with mirror card and patterned paper.

To Make the Card

Cut a piece of white card, 21cm square and fold in half to form a card blank. Layer this with black card, silver mirror card, white card and patterned paper. Cut three hexagon canvases from black card fold up the flaps and glue together. Use a bone folder to crease along the score lines to help shape your canvas easily when gluing.

Take the largest hexagon insert die and cut this 3 times from silver mirror card. Take the first page from the dandelion dreams paper pad and use the middle hexagon insert die to cut 3 pieces from the dandelion flower heads and seeds section of the paper. Mount your paper panels on to the mirror card hexagons and add these to the top of your canvases.

Stamp the Wishing sentiment on to white card and mount it on black card. Cut a strip from silver mirror card – 1cm wide and the same length as the mirror card layer. Cut a white strip the same length and 0.5cm wide. Stick these together flat. Glue the three hexagon canvases across the front, and the silver and white strip with the sentiment below them. Finally add adhesive silver metal gems to decorate the corners.

The “Wishing” sentiment suits the slightly wistful dandelion seeds, and any message could be added inside the card to complete it. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like the card. All the products are linked below.
