Hi Everyone, nothing reminds me of spring more than daffodils, which makes this daffodil edger die perfect for spring birthday cards. I decided to go with classic yellows for the flowers, set off with some gold mirror card.

Hand made spring birthday card with die cut daffodil border.

To Make the Card

Start with a white 6 x 6 inch blank card and trim it down to 14cm square. Layer it with gold mirror card and pale yellow card. Cut a piece of dark yellow card 12.5cm square and die cut the daffodil border from the right hand edge. Use a light orange marker pen to add some shading to the daffodil flower heads. Make sure to save the butterflies that are cut out.

Cut the daffodil border again from white card, then use a green marker pen to colour the leaf pieces and a bright orange to colour the butterflies. Adhere the yellow , die cut piece to the card front and glue all the leaves and butterflies into the appropriate spaces.

Die cut a stitched rectangle approximately 4.3cm x 5.3cm from pale yellow card, stamp the greeting then heat emboss with green/gold embossing powder. Back this with gold mirror card and punch a hole near the top. Thread gingham ribbon through the hole and tie it. Add one small butterfly to the sentiment tag. Use adhesive foam tape to adhere this to the card front. Finish off by adding the remaining butterflies to the card.
