Hi Everyone, this card uses a stamp and die set from the new Big Bold Words Collection from Creative Expressions. Each set has one large word die and a set of smaller clear stamps with words and phrases. The stamps co-ordinate with the main word to create a mixture of sentiments and greetings. Another die that cuts a background for the bold word, so that you can use a combination of colours.

To Make the Card

Start with a white 5 x 7 inch blank card and layer it with peach coloured card and black card. Take a piece of white card approx 5 x 7 inches, spritz lightly with water and sprinkle with Pixie Powder. Spritz again with water to activate the Pixie Powder. Use a paint brush to move the colour around and make sure the whole piece of card is covered. Repeat this process until you are happy with the colour and coverage, try not to make the card too wet. Set this aside to dry, or use a heat gun to speed up the drying process.

Die cut the Surprise word twice from black card, then glue them together to make it thicker and add dimension. Die cut the word again from the Pixie Powder coloured card, be careful to keep all the pieces from this die cut. Cut the background for the word from white card, then glue the black outline of the word on to it. Now take each of the cut out pieces of the Pixie Powder card and glue them into the spaces in the black outline. Don’t worry if you get tiny bits of glue or sparkle on the black outline. Follow a top tip from Sue Wilson who designed these sets, and die cut a third black outline and glue it on top when you have finished paper piecing. Now glue the whole thing to the front of the card, slightly towards the top.

Stamp the Happy Birthday in black on white card, then die cut this using the tag die that is included with the set. Mount this on some of the Pixie Powder card and use 1mm foam pads to attach it to the card front below the bold word.

An unusual, but eye catching card, with lovely colours. The Pixie Powder adds not only colour but shimmer as well. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like the card. All the supplies used are linked below.
