Hand Made Christmas Card with Stamped Pine Cones and Snowfall

Hi everyone, here’s the second card in my snow effects mini series. For this one I used a brand new product called Embossing Sprinkles. It’s basically embossing powder but in larger and different sized grains.

Hi everyone, here’s the second card in my snow effects mini series. For this one I used a brand new product called Embossing Sprinkles. It’s basically embossing powder but in larger and different sized grains. The powder is heated from below so no need for any ink.

To Make The Card

Cut two pieces of kraft card stock 17.2cm x 12.1cm. Use an oval die to cut an aperture from one piece. Lay the die cut piece over the other and faintly pencil mark where the oval is. Stamp the pine cone and branch image on the second piece of kraft card inside the marked oval. When the ink is dry stamp all over it with an embossing ink pad, sprinkle with clear sparkle embossing powder and heat set. This adds a clear sparkly layer over the stamped image.

You can see the sparkle effect in this close up photo. Adhere this panel to the front of a white 5″ x 7″ blank card.

Ink around the edge of the oval aperture with white ink. Spread the Embossing Sprinkles around the outside of the oval aperture. Spread them out with a cocktail stick so that they don’t run into one another when they melt. Carefully pick up the frame and heat from below until the sprinkles have melted. Once they have cooled, adhere this over the stamped layer.

Cut a strip of kraft card and stamp the greeting on it, cut a V shape out of the right end of the sentiment strip. Ink lightly around the edges with white ink, then adhere to the card front towards the bottom left corner.

This is not a difficult card to make, even though it uses several different techniques. I love the effect of the Embossing Sprinkles, they definitely look like snowfall and also add some texture and shine.

Thank you for calling in, I hope you like the card. All the supplies used are linked below.
