Hi everyone, here is number 2 in my ideas for quick and easy, last minute Christmas cards. Each of these posts will include a way to make the card faster and ideas for things you could do differently if you are not in a hurry. I used a 5″ x 7″ blank card for the base so have continued to use inches for all the measurements.

Hand made Christmas card with die cut Christmas tree and tree shaped aperture.

To Make The Card

Cut a piece of gold mirror card to 4.5″ x 6.5″ and adhere this to the 5″ x 7″ white blank card. Trim a piece of watercolour card stock to approx. 4″ x 6″. Use a foam ink blending tool to colour it with green ink. Dip a small paint brush in water and spatter it over the inked background, either leave it to dry or use a heat gun. Cut a piece of white card to 4.25″ x 6.25″ and die cut the Christmas tree outline from it towards the left side. Use both of the large Winter Pine tree dies to cut a tree from gold mirror card and cut away the centre. Adhere the inked card over the gold layer and the white die cut card over that. Glue the gold tree to the left and overlapping the aperture.

To finish off add a gold peel off sentiment to the top right corner and gold adhesive gems to the top and bottom corners.

MAKE IT FASTER: Instead of inking the green layer, use green card.

NOT IN A HURRY: Stamp the sentiment instead of using a peel off.

This is a great card which doesn’t look like it has been made quickly, it would look nice in lots of different colour schemes too. Thank you for your visit, I hope you like it too. All the supplies used are linked below.
