Hi, cards that I have made recently have been on a theme of being prepared for unplanned events, such as bereavement, thanks, illness etc. I felt that engagements fell into the same category, as although there might be speculation, we rarely know about them until the event has taken place. I wanted a card that would suit a couple so not too girly, but still pretty.
To Make The Card
Start with a white 6″ x 6″ blank card, layer it with gold mirror card then dark turquoise card. Cut a piece of pink card 13cm x 13cm and run it through your die cutting machine with both the background die and the heart shaped die. This will create the decorative background and the heart cut out. (Please note the background die cuts the design into the card and does not cut out the square shape.) Adhere the background piece over the turquoise layer, carefully lift the the little partially cut shapes to add dimension.
Die cut the congrats sentiment twice, once from cream card and once from gold mirror card. Glue them together with the mirror card on top. Adhere this across the middle of the heart shaped cut out. Stamp the sentiment onto a strip of pink card, trim the right hand end of the strip on the diagonal. Adhere this under the congrats, sentiment with the tail of the letter ‘g’ slightly overlapping it. Add two paper flowers to the bottom left part of the heart, again slightly overlapping the sentiment and a third flower to the top right.
