Hi, it’s been a while since I used texture paste so I thought it was time to get it out again. I made two stencilled pieces that are sort of reversed. One has coloured texture paste on a white background and the other has stencil paste on a coloured background.

To Make The Card

I did the two texture paste layers first as it needs a bit of time to dry. Take a piece of white card 14.5cm x 14.5cm, lay the stencil over it and tape into place. Smoosh some of each of the three colours of ink on to a craft mat, mix a small amount of texture paste with the first colour and spread it over a third of the stencil area working from top to bottom. Repeat this process with the other two colours, until the stencil is covered. Carefully remove the stencil and set the card aside to dry. Wash the stencil straight away with warm soapy water.

Take another slightly smaller piece of white card and use an ink blending tool to ink the three colours in vertical stripes, in the same order as on the first piece. I started with yellow, then blue, then green. Place the stencil over the inked card and tape into place. This time use the texture paste straight from the tub, to cover the card. Remove the stencil, set the card aside to dry and clean the stencil.

Once the texture paste is dry, assemble the card. Take a 6″ x 6″ white blank card and layer it with navy blue card, then trim the white stencilled piece to 14cm x 14cm and adhere over the navy layer. Cut the coloured, stencilled card to 9.5cm x 9.5cm and adhere it to the card front using adhesive foam tape. Take care to line up the stencilled pattern. Die cut the Thanks sentiment from navy blue card, adhere it to the bottom left hand corner of the top layer, and trim the tails so that they don’t overlap onto the navy layer.

I love all the texture on this card, and I like the navy blue card as a strong contrast, it makes a change from black. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like what you have seen. All the products used are linked below.
