Hi for the last of my summer themed cards I chose a stamped and die cut butterfly for the centrepiece. I matched the colours of the butterfly to those of the zigzag background.
To Make The Card
Cut a piece of purple card 12cm square. Die cut five zigzag strips, two purple, two turquoise and one yellow. Adhere the strips diagonally across the centre of the purple card. I found it easiest to cut the strips longer than required, then trim off the excess after they were glued in place. Adhere this panel to the front of a 12.5cm square white blank card.
The butterfly is made from two layers, to give it more dimension. You can see in the photo below.
Stamp the butterfly twice in black, once on white card and once on vellum. Colour the card one with marker pens to match the colours of the zigzag. Colour the vellum one with the same colours but on the back, so the colour shows through to the front. Die cut both butterflies and adhere the vellum one on top of the card one. Attach three self adhesive metal gems to the butterfly body and bend the vellum wings slightly upwards.
Die cut a stitched circle 5.3cm diameter from the yellow card. Stamp the sentiment in black on to the circle. Adhere the circle over the zigag, then the butterfly over the edge of the circle. Add three paper flowers to the opposite edge of the circle. Finally stamp and die cut the tiny butterfly from the set, use yellow card and colour the butterfly with turquoise. Bend the wings slightly upwards and glue in place, just above the flowers. A lovely card for a birthday or other occasion. I hope you like it, thank you for your visit.
