Hi, I didn’t really know where I was going with this card at first so the method that I used could probably be shortened, but I will give you the full version so you know exactly what I did. I wanted to use the Holly Spray stamp set, it is a favourite from last year but I only got to use it once.

To Make The Card

Start with a cream 5″ x 7″ blank card and trim it down to 11cm x 16cm. The tartan paper pad is 6″ x 6″ so the card needs to be smaller for the tartan to be big enough. Layer the card with red card and a red and green tartan paper. Cut a rectangle of red card 7cm x 10cm, and a piece of gold 6.5cm x 9.5cm. Cut a piece of cream card 6cm x 9cm, then stamp and heat emboss in gold, the Merry Christmas sentiment in the bottom right hand corner of the cream piece. Once the heat embossed sentiment has cooled down, adhere all three pieces on top of one another and then to the card front. Position it slightly towards the top and left side of the card.

Stamp the holly spray in a stamp positioning tool, in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on cream card. This will not run when you use alcohol ink marker pens to colour it. Colour the leaves and berries with alcohol ink marker pens. Put the stamped and coloured image back in the stamp positioning tool and swipe over it with an anti static pad. Make sure it is in the same place as before and stamp again, this time with a pigment ink pad, then heat emboss with gold powder. Fussy cut the stamped image, separating the holly into three pieces, two with 2 leaves and one with 1 leaf. Arrange the leaves around the top left hand corner of the sentiment panel, be sure to leave the sentiment uncovered and glue in place. Add some gold adhesive pearls among the leaves and on the tartan background to finish off.

I can’t think of many more classic elements for a Christmas card with holly and berries and a red, green and gold colour scheme! I am pleased with the way it turned out and hope you like it too. Thank you for calling in. All the products used are linked below.
