Hi, this card turned out nothing like I had in mind, nevertheless, I am very happy with the result. I certainly wanted to make a Christmas card with a non traditional colour scheme and think the turquoise and purple work really well.

Hand made Christmas card with Joy to the World sentiment and die cut foliage and berries.

To Make The Card

Start with a white 5″ x 7″ blank card and trim it to 12cm x 16cm so that it has the same proportions as the stitched rectangle die. Take piece of white card and die cut with the stitched rectangle die size 11.5cm x 15.5cm. Adhere this panel to the card front. Die cut an 8.5cm diameter stitched circle from purple card and a 7.5cm diameter from turquoise card. Glue these on top of one another and trim 1.5cm off the right hand side.

Cut the Joy sentiment once from silver glitter card and once from white card. Glue the two together with the glitter card on top. Adhere this to the stitched circles. Cut a “To The World” phrase from a sentiment sheet and adhere it below the die cut Joy so that it overlaps the loop of the letter Y.

Die cut a selection of holly and pine branches from different shades of turquoise card. Cut 3 berry stems from silver glitter card. Adhere the sentiment circle to the card front with the straight edge lined up with the right side of the stitched panel. Use foam tape to adhere it, to raise it and enable the foliage and berry stems to be tucked under it. Arrange the berries and foliage and glue them in place around the left side of the sentiment circle. Finish off with small groups of purple self adhesive crystals.

I have to say I like everything about this card, the colours, the design and the lovely sparkle from the glitter card and crystals, definitely a favourite of mine. I hope you like it too, all the products used are linked below. Thank you for visiting.
