Hi, this is my last Christmas card for 2022, and the last of the quick and easy cards for this year. I went for a slightly rustic feel with the Kraft background, tartan and stitched holly and sentiment shape.

Hand made Christmas card with Kraft background, tartan fishtail and die cut stitched holly leaves.

To Make The Card

Start with a white 6″ x 6″ blank card and trim it down to 14.5cm square, this makes it easier to size the layers. Add a layer of red 14cm square and one of kraft card stock 13.5cm square. Cut a piece of tartan paper with a red background 7cm x 16cm and cut a fishtail into the bottom of it. I used a die for this but you can hand cut it instead if you haven’t got a die. Adhere the tartan paper to the centre of the card lined up on the top edge of the kraft layer.

Die cut two stitched holly branches from green card, then cut one of the berry sprays also from green card, cut two of the berry clusters off the main stem and add a red adhesive crystal to each berry. Die cut a stitched oval from white card sized at 8.5cm x 4.5cm. Stamp the sentiment in the centre of the die cut oval. Once the ink is dry, use foam tape to adhere the oval in the centre of the tartan. Glue the holly branches above and below the oval with the ends of the stems tucked underneath it. Do the same with the berry clusters, on top of the holly branches.

I think the kraft and tartan work really well together and the crystal berries add just enough sparkle. I hope you like it and give it a try yourself. Thank you for your interest. All the products used are linked below.
