Hi, here’s the first of a few cards for men that I am making, to prepare for some up-coming birthdays and Father’s Day. I really like the copper mirror card, it has such a warm look and matches perfectly with the copper embossing powder.

Hand made birthday card with die cut, heat embossed feathers and faux wax seal.

To Make The Card

Start with a white A6 blank card, add a layer of kraft card 10.25cm x 14.5cm, then cut a piece of white card, 9.75cm x 14cm. Ink the edges of the white card with brown ink and set it aside. Die cut the medium and large feathers from turquoise card, and the small one from copper mirror card. Rub a watermark ink pad over parts of the large feather, then heat emboss with copper embossing powder. Use the watermark ink pad to stamp a hatched design on the medium feather, and again heat emboss with copper.

Die cut the Sealed Twine from Kraft card twice and glue the two rounded ends over each other. Position the twine on the white card with the rounded part nearer to the left edge of the card, glue the round section in place. Fold the ends of the twine around the back of the card and adhere in place. Now adhere the white card to the card front. Cut and emboss the wax seal from copper mirror card and glue in place over the rounded part of the twine. Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment on a strip of white card and heat emboss in copper. Lightly ink the edges of the strip with brown ink and back the strip with kraft card. Adhere the sentiment strip to the bottom right hand area of the card.

I am very happy with the way this card turned out, the recipient was pleased with it too. Thank you for visiting, I hope you like the card. All the products used are linked below.
