Hi I have been wanting to try the Zesty Lemon die set ever since it came into stock, mid-summer seemed like the perfect time for a bright fresh birthday card with a fun, punny sentiment. I love the look of the lemons and leaves, decorated with the small flowers.
To Make The Card
Start with a white A6 blank card and layer it with green gingham patterned paper. Die cut a rectangle with small stripes edging 12.5cm x 8.5cm from white card and adhere this over the gingham layer. The lemons are in two parts, cut three of them with the background piece cut from darker yellow than the front. Glue them together and add some shading with a yellow marker pen. Cut a lemon slice from white card and the lemon slice circle from yellow card. Use marker pens to add colour to the lemon slice segments, glue the slice onto the circle and the segments into the slice. Cut a selection of different sized leaves from green card and three white flowers. Colour the round flower centres yellow with a marker pen and glue on to the flowers.
Arrange the lemons, leaves, flowers and lemon slice on the white rectangle as pictured above. Adhere all the pieces in place with glue, or where the pieces are layered use thin foam adhesive pads. Cut the letters of the word ‘zest’ twice each from black card and glue on top of each other to add extra dimension. Trim the word ‘wishes’ from a Birthday Wordies sentiment sheet. Glue the letters and the word in the top left hand area of the card on the white rectangle.
