Hi, I used the gorgeous Bloom Colorize die set by Tim Holtz for the flowers and leaves on this card. I have used it several times before and it never fails to please. The Hessian Patch is a new die that we recently got into stock so I was keen to see it in action. It’s a great way to add a bit of extra interest and texture to a design.

To Make The Card

Cut a piece of kraft card 12cm square and ink the edges lightly with brown ink. Cut a piece of cream card 11.5cm square and ink the edges lightly with light peach ink. Adhere the two layers to the front of a 5″ x 5″ ivory blank card. Use different shades of peach and cream card to cut all the elements to make two of the large flowers. Ink the edges of the pieces with brown ink and glue them together as indicated on the die set package, use matt gold card for the final piece, to add a bit of shine. Die cut all the pieces for the stem of rose buds, use the two darker shades of card for the flowers, and dark green for the stems. Finally cut everything you need to make three sets of leaves, use dark and light green for the leaves and brown for the stems. Glue the buds and leaves together.

Cut the hessian patch from kraft card and adhere to the bottom right hand corner of the card front. Use a thin foam pad to adhere each of the large flowers, so that they overlap each other slightly and are across the corner of the hessian patch. Glue the ends of the stems of the leaves and buds and such them under the large flowers.

Stamp the sentiment in brown ink on cream card, trim it to leave a narrow border all the way round. Adhere this so that it overlaps the edge of the lower flower head. Use glue at the left end and a thin foam pad at the right hand end so that it is level.

I hope you like the card, I am very pleased with it. I like the subtle colours and the bit of extra interest created by the hessian patch. Thank you for visiting, all the products used are linked below.
