Hi, here’s another Mother’s Day card, a very different look to this one. Rich alcohol ink colours teamed with gold have a real wow factor.

Hand made Mother's Day card with alcohol ink and die cut buttercup panel.

To Make The Card

Start with a piece of Yupo paper at least 15cm x 8cm, add drops of alcohol ink colours, gold alloy and blending solution. Move and mix the colours with an alcohol ink air blower until you are happy with the design and there is colour all over the panel. I used Cobalt and Wild Plum which when mixed together create a lovely purple colour. Die cut the Buttercup Panel and the frame from matt gold card stock. Cut the inked Yupo paper to 6cm x 14.9cm to fit behind the panel, glue the frame and panel to the inked strip.

Cut another piece of the inked Yupo paper 9.3cm x 1.6cm add the peel off sentiment to this strip and mount it on a slightly larger strip of matt gold card. Trim a 5″ x 7″ cream blank card to 11.5cm x 15.3cm. Glue the Buttercup Panel to the left side of the card front. Adhere the sentiment strip across the Buttercup panel, use glue over the panel and thin foam pads at the other end to keep it level. Finally cut a tiny butterfly from the matt gold card and adhere it above the sentiment strip.

This card is for a friends Mum whose eyesight is failing so I wanted to make something with strong colours and texture. I hope this does the trick. I hope you like it, thank you for calling in. All the products used are linked below.
