Hi Everyone, I used the Flourished Fretwork Richelieu Square die set for a card a while ago, click here to see that card. I have been wanting to use it again ever since. I decided on a simple but elegant colour scheme of red mirror card and plain white. There is so much detail in the die cutting that it didn’t need much else to finish it off.
To Make the Card
Start with a 12.5cm square white card blank and layer it with red mirror card. Using the largest square die and the largest detailed die together, cut white card then adhere this over the red mirror card. Use the smaller square die to cut red mirror card, then combine it with the next detail die and cut it in white. Adhere these in layers on the card front. Use the circle die to cut red mirror card then combine it with the detail circle and cut it in white. Adhere these layers to the centre of the card.
Cut a strip of white card, stamp the merry Christmas greeting in red and heat emboss with clear gloss. This makes the stamped greeting shiny and red to match the mirror card. Adhere the strip using foam pads across the centre of the card. Cut four small holly leaves from green card and adhere two at each end of the sentiment strip. Add a red adhesive pearl to each pair of holly leaves for a berry.
Die cutting with this set automatically creates dimension, emphasised by the raised greeting. I like the little dash of green from the holly leaves against all the red and white. From the photo the red stamping doesn’t look like a very good match for the mirror card but in the flesh the mirror card looks lighter. I hope you like it, thank you for visiting.
