Hi Everyone, our guest designer Garcia created this card, which is guaranteed to wow the recipient. The combination of black and neon colours is stunning, and works well with the simple stencilled sentiment.
To Make the Card
Cut a piece of white card 26.5cm x 21cm, score and fold it to make a card blank 13.25cm x 21cm. Cut a piece of black card 13.25cm x 21cm and use it to cover the card front. You could make a black card blank but it’s easier to write your message in a white one. Cut a piece of white card 12.25cm x 20cm, colour around the edges with different colours of Neon Polish to create a border. The Neon Polishes need multiple applications to build up the strength of colour. Apply the first layer, then allow to dry fully (approx. half an hour). Apply again, repeat the process until you are happy with the depth of colour.
Whilst you are waiting for layers to dry, cut a piece of black card 17.5cm x 10cm. Position the Neon Essential Frame stencil in the centre of it and secure with stencil tape. Use a white Gelly Roll pen to colour all the sections of the frame, then apply Neon Polish in various colours as you did for the background. Repeat the stencil process with the Neon Celebrations stencil, to add Happy Birthday inside the frame. Once the coloured background is dry, glue it over the black layer, then add the stencilled panel.
