Hi Everyone, I often make wedding cards in white and silver, so I decided to try gold this time. It is a slimline card and uses a set of slimline dies from Creative Expressions to cut the decorative layers. I love the die cut cosmos flowers, I think they look really pretty in white and gold.

Hand made wedding card with die cut cosmos flowers and congratulations sentiment.

To Make the Card

Start with a white DL blank card and layer it with gold card. Use the largest of the Slimline Decorative Squared Rectangle Frames to cut white card with a decorative edging. Add another layer of gold card sized to fit inside the decorative border of the layer below it. Use the next size down frame die, and cut another piece of white card. This should to fit perfectly on top of the last layer of gold.

Use gold card to cut the Congratulations sentiment, curve it slightly and glue across the centre of the top layer. Die cut two medium sized solid cosmos flowers from gold card, and a pair of the two stemmed leafy branches. Cut two medium cut out cosmos flowers from white card and a pair of large leaf stems. Glue the white cut out flowers onto the solid gold ones, next glue them on top of one another with the petals offset. Use some Ultra High Bond double sided tape to attach this to the bottom left corner of the layers. Use a gold Sharpie pen to colour a 5mm natural adhesive pearl, set it aside to dry.

Glue both sets of leafy branches in place either side of the flower. I like to leave the ends of the branches unglued to add some extra dimension. To finish off glue a heart embellishment to the top right corner of the layers. Add a second heart embellishment overlapping the first, use foam pads to raise it above the other heart. Once the pearl is dry fix it to the centre of the flower.

I am very happy with this card, it is perfect for a wedding, but could also be used for an anniversary card. I hope you like it too, thank you for visiting. All the supplies used are linked below.
